How to make soap - the Melt and Pour Method

The melt and pour process is an easy way to learn how to make soap; there is no saponification involved, as there is with the cold process of soap making. With melt and pour, or soap crafting, a base soap (clear glycerin soap) is melted down in a double boiler or microwave oven. Once the soap mixture is melted, fragrance and coloring can be added to give the soap an attractive appearance and scent. Melt and pour is a great way for children to learn how to make soap, as it is not necessary to handle lye, which is caustic and can be dangerous to work with.

The course will cover cold-process / hot process / transparent / liquid soap/c ream soap / shaving soap /crafted soap / melt & pour soap  / mould making  handmade soap-making with a discussion and demonstration of using colour, adding botanicals, using essential oils and base oils and safety issues. Everyone on the course will have the opportunity to make of their own soap which they can take home with them to cure and use (all materials provided).

Liquid Organic Soap Base - Liquid Organic Soap base can be used as a hand soap, shampoo, or body wash. It is transparent amber in color, it is also free of artificial chemicals and surfactants. In our organic liquid soap the glycerin is left in the soap where it is available to act as a moisturizing humectant.
